So Vickie & I have been going to a colored pencil class at Gilda's Club. Gilda's Club is a Cancer Support House which was founded by Gida Radner's husband Gene Wilder.  This class is every wen; we learn different coloring pencil techniques. The above pictures are my 1st complete pictures which I did most of at home. Not bad for a beginner huh?

It's been a while since my last post but I've had a lot going on. I've been taking Vickie back & forth to her follow up Dr appt's and today we went to the Hospital for her 1st Radioactive Iodine pill,  tmw we will go back & she will have a body scan & her 1st treatment. She will need to be quarantine for 5 days & then go back for another body scan in a wk. The scans will tell us if it spread or not, we will keep our fingers crossed & try to be positive.

I got new ins recently & tried to get my cymbalta refilled but the new ins denied it cause I take it twice a day & they only allow it once a day. Meanwhile I am all out & am having horrible withdrawls!! like dizziness, light headiness, irritability, jittery etc... they better figure this out & fix it ASAP I don't know how much longer I can take this!!!

Bad news is I didn't get the job, Good news is It's my Birthday, I got my nose pierced which my husband bought for me & my best friends bought me tickets to see Godsmack for my Birthday. We also went out to eat. Had a great weekend and most of all I enjoyed my weekend & Birthday with my husband & Best friends!

Yesterday I had a job interview with a OB/GYN & I feel it went better then GREAT! At the end of the interview the Dr said to me "you young lady have set the bar high for anyone interviewing after you!" That felt great to hear. I will know tmw what the decision is. Will update when I hear...

LIVE in the moment, LOVE alot & LAUGH often, is the motto of my life. I'm trying to live in the moment but it's easier said then done! I love my family & friends with all my heart!! & I find myself laughing more each day thanks to them all. 

I'm just wondering if anything else in my life can go wrong. My best friend just had thyroid cancer surgery to remove her tumor & thyroid & has to go thru radiation therapy. And me I just lost my job! & am stressed out to the max. My Fibromaylgia is flaring & I know it's from stress & weather change. Although this is my favorite time of the yr, it always causes my Fibro (short for Fibromaygia) to flare up. I just hope things get better...What else can I say.... thats all for today.

Me & Vickie my Best Friend

So I'm reading a new book, one that my friend Vickie bought. It's called "help me live - 20 things people with cancer want you to know".  This is such a good book when it comes to caring for & communicating with Vickie & what she's going thru.  Tues I will be going with her & Mark to the surgeon's for her consult & to set up surgery. I hope they will get her in ASAP, she is so anxious & down & I am looking forward to a good prognosis & her feeling better.

Well my plans for the beach were interrupted on Wednesday w/Bad News!
Let me start from the beginning, Our friends Mark, Vickie & their daughter Catherine (who's 20) lives with me, my husband Todd & my daughter Jessica (who's 17). Vickie who is my best friend, just found out on Wednesday that she has Thyroid Cancer. She is 44, is Bi-Polar, has MS & now has Thyroid Cancer
what more can this woman take?? :(
A few months back she went to a Dr for Lap-Band surgery & during a exam he found a growth/nodule. Her ultrasound showed a growth the size of a 1/2 dollar & it is starting to block her windpipe/trachea. I've been going with her to her Dr appt's the last one was to the Endocrinologist where they did a 10 needle biopsy. This is how they found the cancer. It's not in the nodule but in the thyroid itself. The Dr also found the nodule on the thyroid, in a MRI done of her brain in 2007.  It's been there 3 yrs & no one has found it til now. WTF!!!

Well I had a good time at my class reunion, so many people & such little time. I found that the clicks are still somewhat clicks and there really is no room for a loner like me! there. The Hotel was beautiful! and so was the room.  The  only thing going on this week is the beach w/my friend Mikki.

Today I took my best friend & roommate to the Endocrinologist for a lump on her thyroid. They gave her 2 lidocain (numbing medication) injections & 8 separate needle pokes to aspirate cells from the lump. Poor girl squeezed both my hands until they were red & numb lol. She should have the results by next Tues. I hope to have a answer to my spinal tap by then. I'm sure both will be good news! "The power of Positive thinking".  Well that's all for now.

Yesterday I had a Spinal Tap done to rule out MS. It was ok until the Dr hit a nerve in my lower back that shot pain right down my right leg. I never got the headaches that he warned me about, but the leg was so painful & still is. I talked to Sedgwick, which is the disability company handling my claim.
They have me jumping thru hoops to get my claim paid. They are making me go back to therapy & the Psychiatrist due to the fact I take Abilify, Cymbalta & Xanax. I have to have a Psyc exam also,  along w/many other things.....sigh.

Mom's plans for a surprise party for my Dad (Rick) is going to be a bomb! Besides Me, Todd, Vickie & Mark the only other people that are coming is Mom & Dad's friends Dorthy & Rich, along w/their "slow" daughter colleen oh yay! But the best part of the day is the evening when we go to the hotel & the reunion!

Went to lunch w/Mom & my sister Bridget on Monday. After lunch we shopped for things for Ricks party.  I can't believe that my Mom is still so naive to what kind of drugs my sister is doing. She has sores all over her arms, face & legs...Mom thinks that the sores are from my sisters burn accident which did not burn her that severe, just a little on her face & arms this is much worse then that was.  Well at least she is going into rehab again & it was her idea.
She was evicted from her home again, so she will need to find herself somewhere to live very quick, cause Dad won't put up w/her living at their house.

Well that's all the drama I have for now! LOL :)

Going to get my hair highlighted & trimmed for the reunion this Saturday. After that I'm going to meet Mom to plan Dad's surprise party & shop for it.
All week I have something going on, I hope that makes the week go by fast.
Tonight Jessica & Ryan will be coming over for dinner & a visit to go over her senior yr registration paperwork. She will be moving back in at the end of the week, She's been staying at her Dad's for the summer. Well off I go, on the run.

Today is a bad hair day!!! I bought a soft golden blonde hair color & it didn't come out like I wanted!!  I have a week to fix the color & anything else. My face is all broken out due to nerves, but I should be able to cover that up w/make-up. I have a whole week until the reunion but have no idea what to wear. I want this to be a special night! and I want to look really good!!!

Today I went to lunch at Duggans on Woodward in Royal Oak w/my friend Mikki, her twin brother Robert & his girlfriend Missy. It was a wonderful lunch! Robert & I haven't seen each other in 30yrs & it was great to see him even for the short time we had. He had to go back home in Coldwater which is like 3 hrs from my home. I then went back to Mikki's house for a little while & then off to run my errands. Mikki & I are scheduled for another beach date next Wednesday, right before our reunion. This time I'll be more careful & wear a higher SPF then I did last time, I was not so smart last time & fried myself LOL.

I'm really looking forward to Aug 28th, it's going to be a really busy day. We will be leaving early in the morning, stopping for breakfast 1st then on the road to Port Huron. Then we will take pictures for a while, then we will be going to the Thomas Edison Inn. This is where my mom has a room reserved for a surprise party for my step dad. We will be decorating the room & setting up for the party. After the party we will drive a hour to Auburn Hills to a hotel where we have a room reserved for my 25th class reunion. I'm really looking forward to this!!!! This will be the one & only reunion I will attend so I am very excited.

Hello my name is Christina, I am a 42yr old mother of 2 Girls. My oldest is Emily who is 24 and lives with her boyfriend Allan (AJ). My youngest Jessica which will be 17 in a few wks,  lives with me but is currently at there bio-dad's for the summer & will return in a couple weeks.
